Engagement Party, Karaoke, and Last Week of School has Arrived
Another weekend has come and gone and the last week of school is here. Technically tomorrow is my last day of classes, though my final GSE Brazil presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, which has been eating up some hours of mine. After that presentation is delivered though, school in my mind is pretty much done, a fruitful and fun year to say the least.

The last few weekends leading up to this final week of year 1 have been absolutely fantastic, and probably constitute the high point of my first year at SOM. Pretty much since the week of the internship Fund Auction, life around here has been great. My study group is fully employed, (we have people doing Corporate Finance at Amex, Structured Finance and Trading at HSBC, Product Development at Microsoft, Marketing at Nike, and me - nonprofit at the United Way), everybody seems to be relaxing quite a bit, and by clever course selection, I have no final exams.

Last weekend was marked by several social outings, most notably, the engagement party for Jordan and Chris. Their pictures make up the last row of my Picassa-generated collage. On top are of course images of the study group, singing Karaoke and loving life.

The only real pressure now on me is trying to figure out housing for my stint in Alexandria Virginia.... more on that and updates on the ultimate 21-states-in-15-days road trip to come later.

There's not much to me, but let me quote my man Rocky Balboa- "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that!"
